Indian Army will soon armed with made in India Weapons

Few years back India was the biggest importer of the weapons or say arms importer. India was on second rank during 2014 and 1st as the 2015. India’s weapons imports are now three times more than our neighbors China and Pakistan and also rich Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirate. We use to buy the weapons from Russia, USA, France and Israel. We are at the top with 14% import and than Pakistan (4th posting with 3.3%) and China (2nd posting with 3.6%).

Recently India conducted Iron Fist 2016 at Pokhran, Rajasthan to show its power of Air force. During this India show world that We will not be importer more we will make it our self and let people buy from us, During this MADE IN INDIA planes were the major attraction. This shows the vision of India and the power of creating the innovative and world class weapons at home ground. Lets see what was special during this Fist.

Light Combat Aircraft Tejas

LCA Tejas is comes with single engined, highly agile, light weight, multi-role supersonic fighter plane. Its weight is 800KG and top speed is 2,205 km/h means almost 1.7 mach. LCA Tejas has quadruplex digital Fly-by-wire Flight Control System (FCS) which is handled by the pilot. The Tejas aircraft which are having delta wing without tail which keeps it light and designed for ‘offensive air support’ and ‘air combat’ as main role and can also work  as ‘reconnaissance (gain visual observation)’ and ‘anti-ship’ as its other roles.

Astra Missile

Astra is a advanced air to air combat missile. It is India’s first beyond-visual-range Missile. The Astra Missile is highly agile, reliable and accurate missile and can be used in any weather conditions. Length of Astra Missile is 3.8 meter, and diameter is 178mm, wight is approx 160kg. Its less weight gives it high launch range capability. the system’s airborne launcher can be used with different fighter aircraft like Su-30, Tejas Light Combat Aircraft, Mirage-2000 and MIG-29. The electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM) feature improves the missile’s target tracking ability by reducing the effect of electronic countermeasures of the enemy targets in jamming environments.This missile is having resistance to jamming while following the object. This is one of the best Missile that can beat US’s AMRAAM.

Airborne Early Warning and Control

This is the home-made Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) System, the flying war room which is developed by DRDO’s Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS), Bengaluru, Which is in final phase and soon hand over to Indian Air Force for use. This system are installed on Embraer Aircraft, This aircraft can fly continuously for five hours, or double that duration after air-to-air refueling. This System Have Radar, Satellite Communications, Communications Intelligence/Electronic Intelligence, Countermeasure Systems.

HAL Light Combat Helicopter

Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) which is designed and developed by HAL , is a multi role combat helicopter. Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) was made to fullfill the IAF’s requirement of a dedicated light helicopter for combat operations. LCH with a narrow fuselage will have a pilot and a co-pilot or gunner, This helicopter is having  Armour protection, stealth features,  Night attack capability and crash worthy landing gear for better survivability. The other features of LCH are Glass Cockpit, Integrated Dynamic System, Hinge less Main Rotor / Bearing less Tail Rotor, IR Suppressor and as weapon 20mm Gun, Rocket & Missiles.
