This days what ever we are buying from the shop or market all food got some kind of contamination. When we went to market to buy vegetables or fruits they also get contaminated by the pesticides.  This is happening because in order to protect from the insects, pest and parasites farmers are using pesticides (like Herbicides, Avicides, Gungicides, Insecticides, Acaricides) but that are having toxic substance or bio hazards some time. so when we buy the vegetables and fruits they may contain some level of pesticides. the question occur that how to remove pesticides from fruits and vegetables which we are buying for our and our family members good health. We have to remove as they can cause nausea , Chronic impact like cancer, Reproductive harm, endocrine disruption  and Damage to nerve system.

How to Remove Pesticides from Fruits and vegetables?

As a simple step to remove such food contamination we can wash, peel off or Electrolyzed water treatment can be given. But there are some home remedies that also helps us to remove pesticides from fruits and vegetables. let’s see what are the possible ways.

Traditional Ways

The most easiest way to remove the pesticide residues is washing the food products and reduce the amount of foot contamination . Washing food products with 2% of salt water (Normal Salt which we are using while cooking) will remove all the pesticide or chemical which appears on the outer surface or top layer of the fruits and vegetables.
About 70-80% of reduced pesticide get removed if we are washing our food product with cold water. The pesticide residues which are on the outer surface of the fruits like apples, plums, grapes, guava, mangoes, pears and peaches and vegetables like brinjal, tomatoes and okra are advised to wash them twice or thrice.

Peeling

Both systemic and contact pesticides that seem on the surface of the fruits and vegetables are often removed by peeling. Steps such as dehydration,  absorption/concentration  and extraction from the raw product will more scale back pesticide residues within the end result. the net influence of process nearly always leads to lowest residues in processed food.

Blanching

A quick treatment in boiled water or hot steam applied to most of the vegetables. particular pesticide residues will effectively be removed by blanching. however before blanching it’s vital to completely pre-wash the vegetables and fruits.

Cooking

Animal product are the main source of food contamination of pesticide residues in human diets. As the animals feed on fodder, which are are having few pesticide residues.Pressure cooking, frying and baking can take away pesticide residues from the animal fat tissues.

Using Some Home Remedies

Turmeric Powder

Take a bowl full of water and boil it. add turmeric powder. put the vegetable or fruits in this water for 5 minutes and then wash with water.

Lemon Juice

Take bowl full of water and add lemon juice mix it and keep the fruits in this water, as the lemon juice is acidic by nature it will remove the pesticides.

Vinegar

Take bowl of water and add a cup of vinegar, which is scientifically known as acetic acid. Put the fruits and vegetable in this water this will also remove the pesticides.

Baking Soda

Take a Bowl full of water add baking soda and keep the fruits and vegetables in it for 5 minutes, then clean with clean cloth.

Black Salt

Take a Bowl full of water add Black Salt and keep the fruits and vegetables in it for 5 minutes and wash it with fresh water.

Tamarind Water

Take a bowl full of tamarind water and keep the fruits and vegetables in it for 5 minutes and wash it with fresh water.

Vinegar Water

Mix Vinegar, Lemon Juice, Baking soda and keep our food items for five minutes.
